The Bishop’s Meadow Trust would like to thank all our members, volunteers and supporters who have made 2016 such an outstanding year for the Bishop’s Meadow and the Trust. We are confident that 2017 is going to be even better so please keep checking back to the website to see what is happening in the new year.
Together we have made a real difference in 2016 although there is still a long way to go. Among the highlights of the last year are the development of a Strategic Plan for the Trust for the first time. This acts as a guide to our activities for the coming 3 years and provides a framework to monitor progress. We have successfully continued to pay off our outstanding loan which has now reduced to £50,000.
On the Meadow, we have established our first wildlife protection areas and have been having discussions with the Surrey Wildlife Trust about the development of a longer term land management plan based on comprehensive surveys of flora and fauna on the Meadow. With energy and hardwork from our volunteers we have planted trees, cleared scrub and continued to tend the fruit trees in the orchard.
So thank you all once again. The future looks good!
